Stylish and safe handrails by Intastop

Intastop combines high-quality style with anti-ligature and anti-bacterial properties in new handrail range

Stylish and safe are not a combination of words often used when discussing building materials. But Intastop has managed to combine both luxurious high-quality style with a variety of highly-effective safeguards within its new range of handrails.

The high-quality, solid wood handrails range offers complete safety. For those with mobility requirements, they protrude 600mm from the wall, giving an increased hand grab; and they are fitted with secure anti-tamper screw fixings, which are hidden by timber pellets, offering a totally-flush finish for ligature prevention. In addition, they benefit from antibacterial properties that aid in the reduction of healthcare associated infections.

"Our wooden handrails offer a premium solution and are perfect in settings where style and practicality are required," said Sarah Barsby Marketing Director Intastop.

"They are ideal for corridors yet, as they have an ability to ascend, are entirely suitable for stairways too giving a complete stylish appearance to interior schemes.”

Intastop’s partnership with Haldane UK, specialist in machined timber products, ensures these bespoke handrails are expertly delivered every time.

“The wooden handrails are designed to meet HBN 00-04 standards and are particularly suited to setting where anti-ligature and anti-bacterial credentials are essential, such as healthcare or public buildings," said Barsby.

"It means that safe does not always have to mean unsightly and they can provide a very stylish and safe solution where required."
